NAME Cheese Industry Seongsu (치즈인더스트리 성수)

ADDRESS 1st Floor, 37 Seongsui-ro 18-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul

METRO LINE#2 Seongsu, EXIT#3

OPEN from 11 AM to 10 PM.

There's this café nearby that's so cute and totally obsessed with cheese and bread.

It's been here since last October... Like, how did we miss this gem? 🥺

You just can't miss this spot, seriously.

Meadow vibes🐄

The decorations are on point. Each piece fits the theme perfectly, making it extra adorable.

When you step inside, you're greeted with a yellow cake showcase and a display of freshly baked bread.

The interior is spacious and pretty roomy.

The concept here is insane! but some might find the soil floor a bit distracting.

They've got other spots without soil though, just FYI.

Let's talk menu:

  • Coffee 5k–6k won
  • Drinks 6k–7k won

The coffee's not bad, but it's not super strong.

They've got some unique options like lemon-dill ade, that'll pique your curiosity.

And they've clearly put a lot of thought into their menu. (Didn't try anything sweet though...)

They've got a variety of drinks, soups, bread, and sandwiches.
Perfect for a meal!

The cakes! They're all about the concept.

So darn cute. Perfect for celebrating special occasions.

  • Whole cakes 30k–50k won
  • Slices around 10k won

Here's what I ordered:
5 cheese bagels, 2 wines, 1 slice of cake, 1 sandwich, and coffee. (Details below)

You can watch them make the cakes in the open kitchen.

They have so many types of cheese bagels, it's called cheegel.

They're all around 3k–5k won each.
Tasty and won't break the bank.

They're also selling different kinds of cream cheese.

~Menu Review~

  • Americano 5.3k won
  • Brie Rare Cheese Cake 12k won

The cheese aroma hits you, it's not overwhelming but has a warm and rich flavor.

Clockwise from the top left

  • Chive(scallion) Cow Cheegle 5.3k won
Loaded with cream cheese for that classic delicious taste everyone knows!
The scallion flavor isn't too overpowering.
  • Smoked Olive Cheegle 3.8k won
Keeping that olive saltiness intact with the added smoky cheese baked to perfection.
The combo of plain + olive + savory cheese flavor makes this my favorite.
  • Basil Tomato Ceegle 5.3k won
The basil aroma is subtle and the tomato flavor is rich, way better than expected.
Not that trendy basil "boom" therefore great.
  • Blue Cheese Scone 4.5k won
Thought it would be super cheesy but it's actually subtle and nutty.
Even cheese lovers (including me) dig it, and those who aren't big on cheese still find it tasty because of its nutty flavor.

  • Fig Couchie Cheegle 5K won (Can't remember exactly...)
This one was the crowd favorite.
Generous chunks of preserved figs, with strong hints of cinnamon and walnuts.

  • Pastrami Sandwich 12k won.
It's pretty huge and loaded with ingredients: ham, carrot laffe, cheese... So tasty!
  • Chili Tomato Soup 7k won
Tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, meat, and more diced and thrown into a chili & tomato base with a cheesy topping!
  • Sausage Potato Soup 7k won
Packed with sausage & potatoes, this creamy soup is a flavor party!

I'm a big fan of soups and stews, especially hot tomato ones.

But even if that's not usually your thing, this soup is seriously delicious.

And the sausage soup? It's loaded with ingredients, almost like a stew.

The portion size might look small, but you might need one soup per person to feel full.

They've also got a selection of wines, starting from around 10k won for a Chardonnay or Rosé to around 50k won for a Cabernet Sauvignon or Sauvignon Blanc.

What I've tried:

  • Rosé wine around 19k won.
When you order wine, they serve it in stainless steel glasses, which is kinda new. Not sure if it enhances the flavor, but it's definitely light and won't break easily. Plus, drinking wine from a steel glass feels kinda rustic, like you're in a medieval barn or something.
As for the wine itself, it's surprisingly okay. It's got a relatively low alcohol content of 13%, but it's got tannins and a nice acidity level. The olive bagel went really well with it.
  • Chardonnay around 19k won.
This one's just a typical Chardonnay with a slightly oaky flavor. It wasn't really my thing, but maybe it's because they don't chill each wine according to its type.
Depending on the temperature they're stored at, a red might be a better fit.

It's decked out sooooooooooo bad.

Shouldn't miss it if you visit Seongsu.
